Financial Answers
What if I can't afford counseling?
Although we currently have no endowment, The Center is organized as a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization. Our mission involves providing a place for counseling and spiritual nurture, and we are committed to making the benefits of such counseling available to a broader base in our community. With the help of our donors, therapists, and former clients, we are able to offer limited assistance to those who cannot afford the standard fee.
Does the Center take any insurance plans?
While we do not participate in "managed care" insurance plans, we do offer clients the option of filing for their contracted coverage for whatever reimbursement is allowed by the policy. This form is called a "superbill" by insurance carriers. The client is responsible for payment to the Center and, optionally, for filing with their insurance company.
What are the fees for the Center's services?
The fee for services at the Center is $145 for a fifty-minute session, except for our psychiatrist's fee, which is on a different schedule of fees.
Each therapist provides discounted services to those who are in need and are unable to pay a full fee.
Scholarship funds may be available to assist clients in need. These funds are acquired by fundraising from various foundations, individuals, memorial gifts, and other donors in Atlanta and beyond.
How do I pay?
The Center operates on a check, cash or credit card basis. We do not bill clients.
How do I make donations to the Center?
We are a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. We are not endowed. Making a donation directly to the Center is a tax-deductible donation. We also have several scholarship funds and programs available.
Who is responsible for establishing the budget?
The Center operates within budget guidelines established by the Center's Board of Directors with an objective of maximizing the care provided with the funds raised from outside funding sources interested in supporting our mission and ministry. We contract for an external audit every year.
