Susan Browner, M. Div., began working with individuals and families in crisis in a hospital setting 13 years ago. She works with adolescent and adult individuals, couples, and families, addressing communication, self-awareness, relationship issues, parenting, aging, spiritual issues, grief, and the normal but difficult transitions of living. Susan has extensive experience with anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, women's issues, pre-marital and marital counseling, divorce recovery, and support for care-givers for the elderly and the ill. Susan leads groups and workshops in spiritual exploration and she also works with the Enneagram Personality typology for growth and self-discovery. She is a member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

The Rev. Canon Thomas H. Conley, Th.M. Canon Tom Conley has 48 years experience as a counselor, psychotherapist, spiritual director, Baptist minister, and since 1995, a priest in the Episcopal Church. He is retired as Canon Pastor of the Cathedral of St. Philip here in Atlanta, and is one of the founders of the Florence McDonnell Center in 2001. He currently serves as its Executive Director. Canon Conley does marriage and family counseling, individual counseling/ psychotherapy, spiritual direction, growth and development groups, marriage and family workshops, and, on occasion, life and business coaching. He has been married to Betty for 50 years and has two sons and four grandchildren.

Dee Desnoyers, M.Ed., LPC, RPT-S is a respected Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapy Supervisor with more than 10 years of experience working with children and their families in school, hospital, and private practice settings in New Orleans, Tallahassee, and Atlanta.

Dee earned her Master's degree in Counseling with a specialization in School Counseling in 2003 from the University of New Orleans. During her doctoral studies in counseling at the University of New Orleans, she focused on using music and creativity and music, including Play Therapy in counseling. After Hurricane Katrina, Dee continued her doctoral studies at Georgia State University. She was part of a research team that examined the relationship between methamphetamine use and HIV in the gay community.

Dee's other specialties include adolescent and adult depression and anxiety, sexuality and 'coming out' concerns, GLBT couples and their families, divorce recovery for children, as well as addiction & recovery.

Dee volunteers with Positive Impact and the MEGA Family Project, and is a member of the Georgia Association for Play Therapy, Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia, American Counseling Association, and the Association for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Issues in Counseling.

Megan McSwain, MA, LAPC

provides counseling and art therapy services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. In her work Megan helps individuals and families find creative solutions to their problems and building on their strengths and abilities. Megan’s work focuses on the use of art therapy, which involves the creation of various types of art (painting, drawing, sculpting, etc) in order to: bring about healing, explore non-verbal and symbolic forms of communication, and to visually express and navigate problems and solutions in a safe and unique way.

Megan earned her Masters degree in Psychology in the Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy Program at the Phillips Graduate Institute in Los Angeles, California. While in California, she worked providing therapy to children and families with a wide range of social and emotional challenges. Also while in California, Megan completed her master’s work on eating disorder prevention through the use of art therapy and group work with adolescents.

Megan’s areas of expertise include ADHD in children, Anxiety and Stress related issues, Behavior and Conduct Disorders, Depression and other mood disorders, Eating disorders, Self -Injury, Sexual Abuse, and Life Adjustment issues, such as divorce, change in school, or grief and loss.


Megan is a volunteer with EDIN (Eating Disorder Information Network), Membership Chair of GATA (Georgia Art Therapy Association), and provides workshops and information on art therapy and various other topics.

Cindy Stiles, MS, LPC, NCC
Licensed Professional Counselor 

Cindy sees clients for both long and short-term counseling, with a specialization in women’s issues. She brings six years of counseling experience: four years counseling students at Brenau Women’s College, as well as two years in private practice. Cindy has experience with a wide range of issues including: anxiety and depression; identity development; sexuality; relationship conflicts; career/life transitions; body image and eating disorders; sexual abuse/trauma, and self-injury. Working primarily from an existential orientation, Cindy helps clients to identify and heal existing patterns of destructive thought and behavior in order to lead authentic and fulfilling lives. In this process, she often focuses on family of origin issues, in particular ruptured attachments. Using a collaborative and nurturing counseling approach, Cindy strives to build a therapeutic alliance based on empathy, support, and mutual trust.

 

 

 

In addition to her Masters degree in Professional Counseling, Cindy holds a Ph.D. in American Literature, having taught at both the high school and college levels prior to becoming a counselor. Her experience with students has shaped her particular interest in the developmental issues and challenges of adolescents and young adults.

Cindy is a Nationally Certified Counselor as well as a member of the American Counseling Association, the Georgia College Counseling Association, and the Licensed Professional Counseling Association of Georgia.
